Vice President to console with bereaved families of River Oti boat victims

Dambai (O/R), Oct. 13, GNA- Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has announced that the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku- Agyemang, will pay a working visit to the Oti Region on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. 

A statement signed by the Regional Minister and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the purpose of the visit was to mourn with the families, who lost their loved ones in the recent tragic boat accident on River Oti between Okuma and Debume, which claimed 15 souls in the Krachi West Municipality. 

It said the Minister and the Vice President, would meet with affected families and communities 

The statement said that the visit was a gesture of solidarity and support from the government during this difficult period. 

Mr Gyapong through the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC), extended its appreciation to all stakeholders, including security agencies and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) officials for their swift response and continuous support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
