Accra, Oct 14, GNA -Shenmo Ghana, will from October 18 to 19 participate in the upcoming second African Shenmo Cup, a prestigious Pan African international abacus mental math competition and cultural exchange.
The competition, scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, would bring together talented young math enthusiasts from across Africa to showcase their skills, foster Pan African and international camaraderie, and promote the importance of mental agility and mathematical excellence.
In a release issued to the Ghana News Agency, on Tuesday, in Accra, it said the event to be held on the theme “Empowering young minds, realizing Africa’s Dream” would be hosted by Shenmo Educational
International Group, headquartered in Beijing, China with Shenmo Rwanda as the main organizer.
It said over 1000 Young Africans aged six to 15 would partipate in the competition.
“Shenmo principals and parents from 3S African countries and other international guests from China, Malysia, USA and Singapore, will also be there.”
“It will be held in the Intare Conference Arena, Kigali, Rwanda with activities including Abacus and Mental Math Competitions, cultural exchanges, workshops, and tours of Kigali’s historical sites.”
The release said the Ghana team comprises Mr. Musa Frimpong, Shenmo Ghana Principal, Mr. Joseph Gyebi, Shenmo Ghana Abacus Instructor and two students/competitors from Al-Hikmah Islamic Montessori School, Accra will depart Accra, Ghana on October 15 and return on October 22.
The team is expected to showcase Ghana’s brightest abacus and mental math talents, engage in cultural exchange programs promoting unity and
diversity, create opportunities for networking among young scholars and educators and drive Africa’s future by empowering its young minds.
It said, “Scientific research has shown that children’s brains have developed over 95 percent by the age of 12, hence the need to give children proper training and cognitive stimulation at an early age to help their brain grow and develop. We hold regular Abacus Mental Math lessons in partner schools, weekend learning centers and online across Ghana.”

competitions including their triumph at the first African Shenmo Cup – International Abacus Mental Math Competition in Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 2023, represented by Nakeeyat Dramani Sam — winner of 2019 Talented Kids, Malaysia Online Competition in 2024 and third Shenmo Global Online Abacus Mental Math Competition in 2025.
