Majority Caucus mourns former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

​Accra, Oct 23, GNA — The Majority Caucus in Ghana’s Parliament has expressed shock and deep sorrow over the sudden death of former First Lady Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

​The former First Lady, wife of the late President H.E Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings and mother of the Hon. Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP for Klottey-Korle, passed away Thursday morning after a short illness, according to an immediate release from the Caucus.

​The announcement was signed by Mr. Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business in Parliament.

​”On behalf of the entire Majority Members, the Right Hon. Speaker Bagbin and the entire Parliament of Ghana, we wish to extended our deepest condolences to the family and the Nation for this great loss”, it said.

​The statement acknowledged the significant contributions of the former First Lady to the country, stating, “She paid her dues to this Country.”

“May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace”, it prayed.
