Accra, Oct. 7, GNA – Madam Rita Odoley Sowah, the Member of Parliament (MP), for La Dade-Kotopon constituency has donated mattresses and provision to first year Senior High School (SHS), students in the area.
Aimed at supporting their transition into senior high school, the initiative was intended to encourage the students to pursue their studies with renewed hope, and also relieve their parents of some of their financial burdens.
The beneficiaries, numbering over 200, each received a student mattress, exercise books, provisions including milo, powdered milk, tin fish, gari, and sugar, as well as sanitary pads for the females among them.
Presenting the items at her office in La, Madam Sowah said the initiative forms part of her vision to improve education, empower the youth and drive socio-economic growth across the constituency.
She said the items, though modest would go a long way in alleviating some burden of parents.
Addressing the students, the MP urged them to remain disciplined and dedicated to their studies, emphasising that their success would not only transform their individual lives but also uplift their communities.
“I urge you all to make the most of the opportunities ahead, remain disciplined, and work hard,” she said.
She further reaffirmed her commitment to empowering young people in her constituency to pursue their educational dreams while ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial constraints.
Some beneficiaries who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), expressed to the MP for the gesture, describing it as timely.
