Accra, Oct. 2, GNA – The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has taken delivery of 100 motorised sprayers valued at GH₵250,000 from K. Badu Agro Chemicals Company Limited in support of the 2025 National Farmers’ Day celebration.
At a short handover ceremony in Accra, Mr Eric Opoku, the Minister of Food and Agriculture, expressed appreciation to the company for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention.
He noted that the presentation was the second in less than a week, following a similar gesture by Ndede Company Limited.
Farmers Day is marked annually to honour the contributions of farmers and fishers to Ghana’s development.
Mr Opoku said the contribution reflected the private sector’s commitment to improving agricultural productivity and enhancing the welfare of farmers.
He assured that the sprayers would be fairly distributed to deserving farmers to support their work.
The Minister also appealed to other private organisations to emulate K. Badu Agro Chemicals, stressing: “This is the time for every one of us to contribute to the agricultural transformation of our country.”
Presenting the equipment, Mr Linux Badu, the Accra Branch Manager of K. Badu Agro Chemicals, explained that the jet-powered mist blowers were designed for large-scale spraying, fumigation and the application of fertilizers and pesticides.
He said the initiative was a “token of appreciation” to farmers for their hard work and sacrifice, and also aligned with national efforts to modernise agriculture and reduce Ghana’s food import bill.
“This is our way of contributing to agricultural growth and supporting government’s Feed Ghana agenda,” he said.
