Adaklu Waya (V/R), Oct. 30 GNA – Friends of Adaklu (FOA), a Non-Governmental Organisation, dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families is organizing a training workshop for Community Child Protection Committee (CCPC) members in the Adaklu district.
The workshop will be held at Ho at the Residency Conference Hall on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
This was in a letter dated October 20, 2025, and signed by Madam Stella Kudah, Country Director of FOA/NORAD and addressed to the Adaklu District Director of the Department of Social Welfare, Assembly members and CCPC members.
The letter which was copied to the Ghana News Agency noted that the workshop was aimed at strengthening community-based child protection efforts within the Adaklu district.
It stated that the activity was part of the Organization’s five-year project which was aimed at protecting children who were at risk of losing parental care.
The letter continued that the Organization was being supported by the Norwegian government through SOS Children’s Villages.
It said the training was designed to build the capacity of Community-Based CPCs, Assembly members and Unit Committee members to enable them to effectively and efficiently promote child safety and well-being at the local level.
The letter stated that the training would also focus on practical approaches to case management and strategies to include community norms for better protection of children.
In another development, there will also be a one-day joint training workshop for members of District Child Protection Committees and Regional Child Protection Committee members at the same venue on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
It is under the auspices of SOS Village and the Department of Children.
It aimed at enhancing coordination, capacity building, and effective collaboration among stakeholders in child protection issues in the Volta region.
It is also to help create a safe environment for all children.
