Sefwi Bekwai (WN/R), Oct. 30, GNA — The Guidance and Counselling Unit of Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School (SHS), in the Western North Region has organised a two-day orientation programme for newly admitted students for 2025/2026 academic year.
It was held on the themed: “Young Leadership: Navigating Academic Excellence and Leadership.”
It provided information helpful to the new students to help make their lives comfortable on campus.
Mr Prince Abubakar Djibo, the Headmaster of the school, during the session gave a brief history and academic achievements of the school and noted that it was one of the best schools that put a premium on discipline and academic excellence.
He advised the students to focus on their academic development and respect the rules and regulations of the school to make life easier on campus for them.
He said: “Your academics should take more of your time because it is the reason why you are on campus because in this school, quality is our watchword, dedication to work is our principle, and students’ success is our mission.”
Speaking on the vision, mission and core values of the school, Mrs Eunice Asante- Manso, Assistant Headmistress in charge of Administration, said the school was a place for positive, social, and economic change.
She also mentioned that the mission of the school was to develop skills and talents through academic excellence, discipline, and life-long learning to become responsible adults in future.
Mrs Gertrude Tetteh, Assistant Headmistress, Domestic, urged the students to be dedicated to their responsibilities and advised them to always put the name of the school first.
On his part, Mr Awonyi Ackah, Assistant Headmaster, Academics, advised the students to take their lessons seriously, and asked them to attend classes regularly and prepare adequately so they could obtain excellent grades in their examinations.
