Ho, Oct. 7, GNA-Family and Friends, a social group based in Shai Hills in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region, has donated assorted items to the New Horizon Foundation for the Blind in Ho.
The items included bags of rice, beans, gari, sachet water, toiletries, soap, and used clothing.
Mr Samuel Barasu, the group’s leader, told the Ghana News Agency that the items were intended to make the children at the Foundation’s centre happy.
He said the Foundation was making efforts to give children with visual impairment a high-quality education.
The Leader urged society to support people with disabilities because they have potential that was essential to the advancement of society.
Mr. Eric Kwabla Ofori, Director of the Foundation thanked the group for their assistance and promised to use the items responsibly for the children’s benefit.
He said the centre would keep helping visually impaired children to discover their God-given abilities for the good of both society and themselves.
Mr. Ofori urged other charitable organisations and individuals to provide similar assistance to the Foundation.
