Enterprise Properties launches ‘Real Estate Edge’ initiative at UPSA

Accra, Oct. 3, GNA – Mr Kwadwo Nini Owusu, General Manager of Enterprise Properties Limited (EPL) says the company has introduced the Real Estate Edge initiative to equip university students with practical knowledge and skills for successful careers in real estate, logistics, and procurement.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after a seminar at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Mr Owusu said the initiative was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice.

“The Real Estate Edge is what we call an EPL initiative, designed to go back to the community and schools to engage students and bring them up to speed on how they can practice real estate successfully after school,” he said.

He explained that students from management, logistics, and real estate programmes often looked for careers in those fields after graduation, and practitioners like EPL had a responsibility to mentor them on industry realities, required skills, and professional ethics.

Mr Owusu emphasised that real estate remained a critical part of Ghana’s economy, contributing significantly to the Services Sector, which accounts for about 30 to 40 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“You cannot build an economy without real estate because it contributes to GDP. Constructions, hotels, hospitals, apartments, and even tourism infrastructure all fall within real estate services,” he said.

He noted that although many people currently practising real estate had no formal training in the field, universities such as UPSA were now offering real estate-focused curricula to better prepare students as future professionals.

The seminar, the first of its kind by EPL, would be extended to other institutions such as the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University for Development Studies (UDS).

Mr Owusu urged students to adopt a resilient and adaptable mindset, commit to continuous learning, seek mentorship, and uphold professionalism and ethics in their careers. He also encouraged them to embrace technology and innovation to stay competitive in the dynamic market.

On opportunities, he said EPL accepted national service personnel and interns, with the possibility of retaining high-performing candidates as the business grows.

Beyond training, Mr Owusu expressed a vision to scale the Real Estate Edge into a nationwide platform within five years, where students and practitioners could converge annually to learn, network, and build sustainable careers.

Enterprise Properties Limited, a subsidiary of the Enterprise Group, has been providing real estate services for over 13 years.
