Nkroful (W/R), Oct 31, GNA – Work on an ultra-modern six-unit classroom block has commenced at the Nkroful Agricultural Senior High School (NASS) in the Ellembelle District.
The project is an initiative of Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle.
Mr Zickfred Arthur, an Executive Member of the Ellembelle branch of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Teachers Network, a subsidiary of the Tertiary Education Institutional Network (TEIN) of the NDC disclosed to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Nkroful.
He said the project was awarded on contract to Kouame Dackson Macwest Construction firm and is expected to be completed in six months.
The MP who doubles as the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, had earlier broken the ground for the construction of the educational facility.
According to Mr Joseph Kwaw Blay, Headmaster of NASS, the school, which now runs the double track system, was in dire need of a-24-unit classroom block to meet the existing infrastructural deficits of the school to attain a single-track status.
According to him, the current infrastructural deficit of the school, was far outstretching the work of administration and smooth running of the school.
Mr Arthur therefore assured the school that the MP would ensure supervision and monitoring of the project so that the school block was completed on schedule.
The six-unit classroom block when completed, would bring to 24, the number of projects Mr Armah-Kofi Buah had executed at the Agric school.
