Tema, Oct. 13, GNA – Apostle Prof. Samuel Asuming-Brempong, the immediate past Chairman of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) Ghana, has advised Christians to be wary of the tactics and devices of Satan.
He said this would enable them to recognise when Satan was at work; so that they would be able to deal with him and defeat him.
“The greatest enemy of the Christian is the Devil. He is trying to destroy you, but Jesus has prayed for you, so that you will be able to win the battle,” Apostle Prof. Asuming-Brempong, stated in his homily delivered at the GCCI Maranatha Assembly at Tema.

Dwelling on the theme of the 40-Days Fasting and Prayers of GCCI Ghana, dubbed “Breaking the Barriers to Chrislikeness, Discipleship and Church Planting in GCCI,” Apostle Prof. Asuming-Brempong underscored that the Christian life was a battle field and that they needed to be strong in the Lord and be grounded in the power of his might.
Apostle Asuming-Brempong urged Christians to be sober and vigilant as the Bible has charged them, because the adversary the devil, was roaring like a lion and seeking whom he may devour.
He stated that because the devil knew that he was already doomed to hell, he was doing everything in his power to carry human beings along with him; stating that the devil always capitalised on the weaknesses in the life of a people to destroy them.
He charged Christians to check their families to trace any forms of generational curses so they could prayerfully deal with them.
Apostle Prof. Asuming-Brempong said just as a child could inherit a genetic predisposition to a disease from a parent, so too could one inherit the broken patterns, addictive behaviors, and demonic strongholds that had been given place in the family line.
He reiterated that to ignore this reality was to ignore the full counsel of God and to leave oneself and children vulnerable to cycles of destruction they did not start.
Apostle Prof. Asuming-Brempong said Christians could overcome the devil through the power of the blood of Jesus and by the word of their testimonies. And encouraged believers to hold on to this truth to overcome their adversaries.
