Wlitey to host grand launch of 2025 Avenor Tutudoza

Akatsi (VR), Sept. 03, GNA- The Central Planning Committee (CPC) of this year’s Avenor Tutudoza Festival has picked Wlitey, a community near Akatsi in the Volta Region, to launch the sixth edition of the celebration of the festival celebration. 

The main celebrations will take place in November 2025. 

There will be a display of the rich tradition and culture of, and by the people of Avenor. 

The theme of the is: “Securing the Future of Avenor through Skills Acquisition, Employment, and Economic Growth.” 

Torgbui Tali Gafatsi lll, member of the Avenor Traditional Council and CPC Chairman, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Tuesday after the Committee’s meeting towards organising a successful launch that would be held on Thursday, September 25 at the Wlitey School Park. 

He indicated that the launch, usually done at Akatsi, would now be done on rotational basis annually in order to champion inclusivity and togetherness across the various towns and communities under Avenor. 

Torgbui Gafatsi explained that there would be series of activities such as Students Durbar, Mama Nutifafa Avenor, pilgrimage to Datsutagba, health walk, football gala, musical concert, clean-up exercise, among others as programmes marking this year’s event. 

He said: “Our festival launch will bring all sons and daughters and other important dignitaries together as we showcase our programme of activities as well as raising funds for the celebrations.” 

Avenor Tutudoza is celebrated by the Chiefs and People of Avenor and is celebrated under the auspices of the Avenor Traditional Council led by its President, Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, who is also the Paramount Chief of the Avenor Traditional Area. 

The Traditional Council has since announced a 14-day traditional ban on funerals and other forms of mass gatherings in the entire Avenor land, from Monday, November 17 to Sunday, November 30, 2025
