Thousands of mourners have gathered at the Manhyia Palace in anticipation of the arrival of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.




Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III goes home today: Preparations for the Journey underway
Kumasi, Sept 18, GNA – Elaborate customary rites for the burial (Doteyie) of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the late Asantehemaa, are underway throughout Asanteman.
Today is the last day of the four days burial rites, which started on Sunday September 14, 2025, at the Manhyia palace in Kumasi.
All activities including trading, hawking, transport services, catering and others have been halted for residents to take part in the burial rites.
Nana Konadu Yiadom died on August 07, 2025, after reigning for eight years on the stool.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, sat in state on Tuesday and Wednesday September 16 and 17, to receive dignitaries and delegations, who had gathered at the Manhyia Palace to mourn with him.
