Sunyani, (Bono), Sept. 3, GNA- Mr Ransford Antwi, an Independent Parliamentary Candidate in the 2024 polls in the Bono Region has called on Members of Parliament in the region to bury their political orientations and push for the holistic development of the region.
He said development of the region ought to be the major concerns of all, regardless of political backgrounds, urging various political party executives and ministers of state from the region to prioritise and tackle the deficit in the infrastructure development of the region.
Mr Antwi, also the Chief Executive Officer of the Suncity Group of Companies made the call at the 2025 Annual Convention of the Council for Bono and Ahafo Citizens in North America (COBAANA) held in Denver, Colorado in the United States.
A statement issued by the office of the independent candidate who contested the parliamentary elections in the Sunyani East constituency and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani commended COBAANA, an association of Bono and Ahafo natives, resident in North America for their commitment and contributions to the development of the region.
It said: “As we continue to look for the next Kofi Abrefa Busia, JH Mensah, JH Owusu Acheampong, IK Adjei Mensah and Lawyer Munifie, it’s important that we do well to support anyone who emerges as a rising star without looking at the party he or she belongs to”.
The statement expressed appreciation to the “COBAANA for your kind support during my recent political journey and let’s all of us rally behind any rising star, regardless of our political affiliations”.
“Despite COBAANA’s strong non-partisan posture, they encouraged and stood behind me in my political journey, from start to finish, which really meant a lot to him”, it stated.
The COBAANA presented a special certificate of appreciation to Mr Antwi for selfless contribution to the Association and the development of the Region as a whole.
