Adaklu Kodzobi (V/R), Sept. 11, GNA – Madam Haneen Khalaf, the Director of Global Business Development at Learning Upgrade, on Thursday donated Starlink internet and Wifi to the Adaklu Kodzobi District Assembly Basic School.

She disclosed that Learning Upgrade was founded by Virod Lobo, a teacher, a songwriter and a computer engineer in 1998 in the USA, with the aim of creating breakthrough and interactive learning programmes.

“It is a life-changing online education that enables schools and organisations to close learning gaps and accelerate student growth in English, Mathematics, tests, computer prep and job skills,” she said.

Madam Khalaf stated that all the pupils would be linked individually to the Starlink app which would enable them to learn independently and the beneficiaries to be serious with their studies.

She intimated that the lessons on Learning Upgrade were filled with songs, videos, games and rewards, and cited another benefit of the Programme as the opportunity for the pupils to have “a sister school relationship” with other schools and pupils.

She promised that her organisation would work with teachers at the school to improve the academic performance of the pupils.

Madam Khalaf stated that after one year they would hand over the funding and supervision of the programme to the community and urged them to tune their minds to it.

Togbe Dzegblade IV, the Chief of the community thanked Learning Upgrade for selecting the school for the life changing opportunity.

He urged the pupils to grab the opportunity with their two hands and assured them that he would put measures in place to ensure the continuity of the Programme, if it was handed over to them.

Mr Charles Kugbeadzor, the Headteacher of the school, promised to encourage his colleague teachers to commit to guiding the pupils to ensure that the programme benefited them.
