Kumbungu (N/R), Sept 17, GNA – Alhaji Imoro Yakubu Kakpagu, Kumbungu District Chief Executive (DCE) has encouraged this year’s candidates writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in the area to approach their papers with confidence and strive for excellence.
Alhaji Kakpagu gave the encouragement when he visited some examinations’ centres in the district to encourage the candidates to do their best in the examinations.
The visit formed part of the DCE’s efforts to support the improvement of education in the district and to boost the morale of the candidates and inspire them to approach the examinations with optimism.
He was accompanied by the District Director of Education, senior administrative officers of the District Assembly, and some executives of the National Democratic Congress in the Kumbungu Constituency.
Alhaji Kakpagu, addressing the candidates, wished them success in their examinations reminding them that confidence and a positive mindset were critical in producing accurate answers and attaining good results.
He assured them of the government’s commitment to education, citing the initiative to absorb academic facility user fees for first-year students in public tertiary institutions and urged them to target such opportunities by performing credibly in their examinations.
He said the policy sought to ease the financial burden on families while expanding access to higher education.


The DCE spoke on President John Mahama’s vision, especially on education and said the government remained committed to reducing inequality and ensuring a smooth transition from secondary to tertiary education for all qualified students.
He prayed for divine guidance and protection for the candidates throughout the examination period and urged them to remain focused on their studies.
