Kete-Krachi (O/R), Sept 19, GNA – Mr Addo Prosper, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi West in the Oti Region, has led a clean-up exercise aimed at promoting quality health care delivery in the municipality.
He said the initiative was in line with the commitment of the government to make cleanliness a national priority.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Prosper announced plans to institute a monthly clean-up exercise across the municipality and its surrounding communities and commended the President Mahama administration for its dedication to ensuring a cleaner and healthier Ghana.
The MCE underscored the importance of maintaining a clean environment, urging residents to desist from open defecation and indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
He said such practices exposed communities to the risk of cholera, typhoid, malaria, and other preventable diseases and encouraged households to regularly tidy their homes and surroundings.
Mr Prosper appealed to residents of Krachi West to embrace cleanliness as a way of life to safeguard public health and enhance the quality of life in the municipality.
