Tema, Sept 01, GNA-The Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) Training Centre has been awarded an “Exemplary Performer in Technical Capacity Building – Public Sector” award for the second consecutive time.
The award was presented to the Centre during the 5th National Governance and Business Leadership Awards 2025, held in Accra over the weekend.
Mr Godfred Mensah, an engineer and Director of the ECG Training Centre, speaking after the award ceremony, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the Centre was a premier institution for the development of technical and professional skills in the power sector of Ghana.


He added that he was overjoyed that the contribution of the Centre had been recognised, adding that “the Centre delivers expert-led programmes in power system planning and design, protection, control, network operations and network equipment maintenance.”
He said his outfit has facilities including a power substation, demonstration field and advanced testing labs for hands-on learning to better serve those who come for training, indicating that “tailor-made programmes are offered on demand.”


The Director thanked the organisers of the awards programme for the recognition of the Centre as a place that supports the capacity building of professionals in the power sector.
