Accra, Sept. 27, GNA-The Africa Global Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) has congratulated Dr Akwasi Opong-Fosu on his appointment as the Chairman of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center.
The Chamber recognised Dr Opong-Fosu’s contributions, dedication, and efforts to foster economic opportunities and advance investments in Ghana.
A statement issued in Accra said this was an inspired and visionary appointment by President John Dramani Mahama, and one that aligned perfectly with the urgent task of repositioning Ghana as a premier investment destination on the African continent.
Dr. Olivier Kamanzi, Chairman of the Africa Global Chamber of Commerce, said, āI have known Dr Opong-Fosu for over a decade, and his leadership and credibility are widely recognized across both public and private sectors, in Africa and internationally.”
He said over the years, AGCC had the privilege of collaborating with him in advancing Africaās trade and investment agenda most notably through joint engagements with the Africa Global Emergence Center and high-level platforms.
Dr. Kamanzi said these included the Rainbow Push Coalition African Diaspora Investment Forum and Wall Street Economic Summits, AGOA Civil Society Network, and the US-Africa Trade and Investment Conference.”
He said as he assumed this new role, “we are confident that his wealth of experience and extensive networks will be invaluable to GIPCās work in catalyzing both domestic and foreign direct investment.
“We look forward to deepening our collaboration with the Centre under your leadership, forging pathways that benefit both Ghana and the broader Africa-U.S. business corridor,” he added.
Dr Opong-Fosu said, āI will like to express my gratitude to President Mahama for his confidence in my humble person and recognition of my dedication to foster economic opportunities and advance investments in Ghana.”
“I am committed to working with my fellow leaders and providing my insights, knowledge, skills, and years of experience to the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre,” he added.
