Sefwi Wiawso (WN/R), Aug 8, GNA – Mr Wilbert Petty Brentum, the Western North Regional Minister, has on behalf of the chiefs, elders, and people, extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the helicopter crash victims.
They are; Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Alhaji Minuru Lumuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Samuel Aboagye.
The rest are; Squadron Leader Peter Anala, Flying Officer Manean Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
Mr Brentum in a statement said the sad incident was not just a personal or family tragedy, but a national calamity, saying; Ghana had lost some brightest minds who were dedicated public servants, and brave compatriots.
He said: “Their deaths remind us of the high cost of public service and the immense sacrifices made by those who put the nation before self.”
He called on all Ghanaians to unite in grief and reflection, noting that this was a time to honour the legacies of these great men.
He expressed his condolences to the cherished families of the departed, saying; “The people of the Western North Region share in your pain and stand with you in prayer and solidarity.
“Your loved ones gave their lives in defence of our country’s future, and their memory will forever be etched in our hearts and the annals of Ghana’s history.”
Mr Brentum further expressed condolences to the President of the Republic, the Government of Ghana, and the leadership of the various state agencies that had lost their valued members of their institutions.
“Their absence will be deeply felt, but their work must continue with renewed vigour, in their honour and for the sake of the nation they died serving,” he added.
