Adaklu Waya (V/R), Aug. 24, GNA – Three pregnant girls are among 230 candidates writing the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at two centres in the Adaklu district.
The three pregnant candidates are taking the examination at the Adaklu Senior High School (SHS) at Adaklu Waya.
The two centres are Adaklu SHS at Adaklu Waya and Gbekor SHS at Adaklu Abuadi/Tsriefe.
A total of 182 candidates made up of 66 boys and 116 girls are taking the examination at the Adaklu Waya SHS centre while 48 candidates comprising 24 boys and 24 girls are also writing theirs at the Gbekor SHS Centre.
Ms Judith Makafui Kuagbonu, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Adaklu District Directorate of Education disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Adaklu Waya on Friday.
She said there were no candidates with disability and that there was also no absentee candidate.
Ms Kuagbonu advised the candidates to take their studies seriously and pay attention to the “final tips” from their teachers.
She advised them to draw personal study timetables and follow them religiously.
The PRO also advised them to read all WAEC general instructions and specific ones to each section of the paper and prepare well for each paper.
She asked them to pray for God’s enablement for the whole period of the examination, avoid relying on “appor” and supplied answers from their teachers.
Ms Kuagbonu discouraged them from sending foreign materials like mobile phones to the examination halls.
Turning to the teachers,she cautioned them to desist from assisting the candidates during the examination, warning that they would not be spared if caught.
The 2025 WASSCE begun on 5th August and will end on 19th September.
