Accra, August 27, GNA – Response One Ghana Limited, one of Ghana’s leading technological security solutions enabler, monitoring alarm has helped the Ghana Police to foil Winneba bank robbery attempt.

The armed robbery attempt at the MRB Rural Bank in Winneba was foiled at about 01:00 hours, Friday, August 15, 2025, after their monitored alarm system transmitted an instant signal to its 24-hour Alarm Monitoring Centre.

A Statement issued by Response One Ghana Limited, explaining hiw the police got wind of the robbery said: “At about 01:00 hours,  intruders cut through the bank’s burglary-proof barriers to gain entry. Security guards were overpowered and the alarm device smashed into pieces.”

“What the criminals did not know was that the system had already transmitted an instant electronic signal to Response One Ghana Limited’s monitoring center,” it said.

The Statement added that  within seconds, the alert was relayed to the Ghana Police Service Communication Department, which coordinated with the Anti-Armed Robbery Response Unit (AARU) in Winneba and a patrol team was dispatched to prevent the robbery.

The Statement said while banks are often prime targets, criminals also focused on shops, fuel stations, warehouses, estates, offices and homes.

“The same technology that protected MRB Rural Bank is now protecting businesses and households across Ghana, ensuring that help is already on the way, even when criminals think they have the upper hand,” it said.

Mr George Anderson, Managing Director, Response One Ghana Limited, in a remark, said, their role demonstrated the strength of monitored alarm systems, adding that though barriers were cut, guards overpowered and equipment destroyed, the signal was sent and the Police got on-board.

“At Response One, we are committed to ensuring that the same protection available to banks is extended to homes, shops, estates and businesses across Ghana, so every client enjoys safety and peace of mind,” the Managing Director said.
