By Benjamin Akoto

Odomase, (Bono), Aug. 6, GNA -The Odomaseman Senior High School (ODASS) in the Sunyani West municipality has instituted an annual award scheme to recognize and appreciate the best candidate of the school in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to Mr William Ohene-Adjei, the Board Chairman of the School, the best performing student in the WASSCE would be awarded with a brand-new laptop computer and accessories.

The school will also honour the best male and female students and display their photographs and that of their parents in the school.

Speaking at a stakeholder’s forum organized by the school at Odomase, Mr Ohene-Adjei explained that the award was in line with broader efforts to promote WASSCE integrity and academic discipline in the school.

The forum attended by teachers, parents and some of the final year students was aimed at identifying and tackling examination malpractices as the 2025 WASSCE commenced.

Mr Ohene-Adjei advised the WASSCE candidates to be honest, do independent work and avoid all forms of examination malpractices, saying “you our future and whatever you do today will shape the kind of professionals you become tomorrow.”.

He cautioned that “If cheat and pass the WASSCE and later become a nurse or teacher, you may end up passing that same corrupt behaviour on to others” and urged the candidates to reflect on and concentrate on building a better future for themselves.

Mr Ohene-Adjei inspired them to have confidence in themselves and to do their best in the exams.
