India High Commissioner to Ghana Interacts with Journalists

Mr. Manish Gupta, the India High Commissioner to Ghana has met some Media Managers and Journalists to strengthen bilateral relations between the commission and its media partners in Ghana.

The event which was held at the residence of the High Commissioner in Accra brought together Journalists and Managers from both state owned and private media organizations.

In his welcome address, Mr. Gipta highlighted the strengthening bilateral ties between India and Ghana, and plans to deepen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, agriculture, health, security, defense, and information technology, among others.He emphasized the historic and privileged relationship between the two countries, citing the visit of India’s Prime Minister to Ghana, and the role played by the media in documenting such significant milestone.

Mr. Gupta who revealed that India had increased its sponsorship for Ghanaian public officials, students, and business leaders under fully funded schemes encouraged participants to take advantage of the scheme.

“We are two democracies, who are talking to each other and we want to take this relationship to greater heights,” he said.

“Our job is to build bridges between peoples, bridges between communities, bridges between countries,” he added.

The meeting underscores the importance of media in deepening the partnerships between India and Ghana.
