Ghana Muslim Mission Greater Accra honours National Chairman Sheikh Dr. Amin Bonsu

Accra, Aug. 4, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the Ghana Muslim Mission has honoured its National Chairman, Sheikh Dr. Amin Mohammed Osei Bonsu, for his

dedicated leadership and unwavering service to the Mission and the Muslim community in Ghana.

The honour was conferred during the official launch of the Ghana Muslim Mission’s MoMo USSD code on Sunday in Accra, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing digital financial inclusion and supporting the Mission’s operations nationwide.

In a citation presented to him, Sheikh Dr. Amin Bonsu was commended for his steadfast commitment, strategic foresight, and profound generosity, which have significantly shaped both the Ghana Muslim Mission and the wider community.

The citation highlighted his leadership values of service, compassion, and integrity as qualities that had earned him respect both within and outside the Islamic community.

It said under his stewardship, the Mission has witnessed increased spiritual engagement, improved collaboration among regional branches, and the successful blending of traditional Islamic values with modern approaches to community development.

His efforts have also extended beyond religious duties, with notable contributions in health outreach, inclusive education, and support for the underprivileged.

“You are an embodiment of the true spirit of servant leadership, faith in action, and generosity without bounds,” the citation read, adding that his impact continues to inspire excellence, accountability, and communal unity.

The regional executives also prayed for Allah’s continued blessings on his leadership.

In his response, Sheikh Bonsu expressed appreciation to the Greater Accra Regional Council for the recognition and dedicated the honour to all members of the Ghana Muslim Mission across the country.

He reiterated his commitment to the Mission’s core values and encouraged collective effort in advancing its goals.

The event also saw the region congratulate Hajj Abdul Nasir-Deen on his appointment as Ghana’s Ambassador to Turkey. He was presented with a commemorative plaque in honour of his achievement.

The ceremony brought together regional executives, national officers, and members of the Muslim community, who lauded the leadership and progress being made within the Ghana Muslim Mission.
