Accra, Aug. 21, GNA – Hearts of Oak will face defending Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions Bibiani Gold Stars in the second round fixtures of this year’s Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top 4 tournament on Friday, August 22, 2025.
The Phobians recorded a marginal 1-0 victory against Heart of Lions in the opening encounter on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, courtesy of Ransford Mensah’s deflected free kick.
It was the second consecutive win for the Phobians over Heart of Lions after their Homowo Cup victory last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak would have the chance to record another win against Gold Stars, who defeated Kotoko 2-1 in the opening fixture of the GHALCA Top 4 tournament.
Albert Amoah opened the scoring for Asante Kotoko, but Gold Stars made an impressive comeback to secure the win with a goal from Samuel Atta Kumi and an own goal by Kotoko’s Henry Ansu.
Asante Kotoko would be looking to bounce back to winning ways against Heart of Lions later on Friday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Legon at 18:00 GMT.
It would be a crucial encounter for the Porcupine Warriors as they prepare for their final encounter against Hearts of Oak this coming Sunday in the GHALCA Top 4 tournament.
