Takoradi, Aug. 11, GNA – Nana Egya Kwamina XI, the Divisional Chief of Apremdo, says his heart is heavy over the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight distinguished Ghanaians, including the esteemed Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
The ministers were on a mission aimed at protecting the environment and security, fighting illegal mining, and safeguarding the future, a wake up call to all individuals involved in that illicit trade to end the practice.
Nana Egya Kwamina XI, in an interview with the GNA, said, “Their sacrifice calls us all to honour their memory by redoubling our efforts to build a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable society devoid of destructive illegal mining activities.”
“We join the President and the Ghanaian people in mourning, while lifting the families of the departed in prayer that they find strength and comfort in this hour of darkness.”
As the Chief of Apremdo whose land host the Ghana Airforce Takoradi, “I express my heartfelt condolences to all affected, mourn with the families particularly my three crew son’s who are staff of the Airforce base, and invite everyone to reflect on the fragility of life and the value of service to our beloved nation”, he added.
