Daddy Lumba’s one-week observation memorial to be held August 30

Accra, Aug. 6, GNA –  The family of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu, a.k.a. Daddy Lumba, has set Saturday, August 30, 2025, as the one-week observation memorial for one of Ghana’s musical icons.

This announcement was made by the Family Head, who also disclosed that the final rites would be held in Kumasi on a yet-to-be-released date.

Ghanaians are still mourning the tragic death of one of their musical heroes, who was revered for his successful career.

Last Saturday, the Creative Arts Agency, in collaboration with the Fosu family, held a national candlelight vigil for Daddy Lumba at the Independence Square in Accra.

Thousands of fans attended the event, with tributes from the government, family, and others.

There would also be a similar vigil held at the Heroes Park at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
