Accra, July 17, GNA – The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, in collaboration with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp, has organised a two-day digital skills training workshop to promote tourism and cultural storytelling.

The training, which brought together officials from the Ministry and its 13 implementing agencies, was to explore how Meta tools could be used to promote tourism, and creative enterprises.

The modules considered included content creation and audience engagement, campaign analytics, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram Business tools, and access to Meta Support Pro and Self-Guide Portal.

Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the sector Minister, at the closing of the training, urged the participants to embrace self-improvement and digital innovation as tools for transformation.

“This is not just about you, it is about those you work with and those coming after you,” the Minister said, emphasising service, character, and the power of preparation.

She said the training was a timely move to align Ghana’s creative sector with global digital trends.

Mr Kojo Boakye, the Vice President for Public Policy at Meta for Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey, stressed the importance of digital communication in boosting Ghana’s global image.

He encouraged participants to engage actively and integrate their new skills into both institutional operations and personal growth journeys.

“This marks a big step in digitising Ghana’s tourism and creative industries,” he said.

Top Meta experts who led the sessions with practical insights included Mr Sade Dada, Madam Judith Mongala, and Mr Boakye.
