Takoradi, July 15, GNA – Mr. Arimeyaw Alhassan Alolo, Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Port of Takoradi, says the port continues to cement its position as a vital force in Ghana’s maritime sector, showcasing a strong blend of modern infrastructure and operational expertise.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he stated that the facility featured two high-capacity ship loaders, each capable of loading up to 2,500 metric tonnes per hour.

“At the Port of Takoradi, we do not just lift cargo, we elevate possibilities,” he stated, emphasising the port’s capacity to handle substantial cargo volumes efficiently.

Mr. Alolo said the capabilities of the Port’s downstream Oil & Gas Jetty accommodated tankers of up to 60,000 tonnes and fitted with five loading arms for the handling of petrol, diesel, LPG, bitumen, and heavy fuel.

Highlighting the importance of safety and precision, he explained that marine pilots were transported via pilot boats to guide vessels from anchorage to berth, ensuring smooth and secure navigation into the port.

According to him, with its advanced infrastructure and highly skilled personnel, the Port of Takoradi not only supported Ghana’s economic development but also served as a strategic trade gateway for neighbouring nations like Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
