Odomase, (Bono), July 29, (GNA)-Miss Millicent Amankwah Yeboah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani West, has inspected the progress of work on the rehabilitation of the 400-

kilometer road in the Municipality. The MP is funding the reshaping of the Odomfour Apraku II road project that links Odomase, the municipal capital and Fiapre in the Municipality.

Ms Amankwaa told the media on the side-lines of the inspection visit at Odomase that she was personally funding the construction work because the deplorable condition of the road remained a huge public outcry in the area, disrupting daily lives and economic activities.

She said that particular stretch was strategically positioned to spur economic growth and development, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improve road infrastructure in the area.

The MP said the Nsoatre Hospital Road and the Chiraa town roads were also earmarked for rehabilitation and urged the constituents to maintain their trust and confidence in the government.

Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister who accompanied the MP, commended her for funding the rehabilitation works, describing the road as a vital economic route in the municipality.

In another interview, some of the residents at Odomase also commended the MP for the project, saying it had brought relief to them.

“In fact, this is a great relief to us because we have endured the dust emanating from the road for years, affecting our health, businesses and movements,” Mr Nuruden Abubakar, a resident stated. He said: “The rehabilitation of the road is a sign that our MP is a listening MP.

This is what we expect them to do when we vote for them.” Another resident, Madam Mabel Amoako, said the road project would greatly facilitate the movement of the people and their economic activities, and commended the MP for the intervention.
