New Jersey, July 10, GNA – European Champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have set a date with English side Chelsea Football Club in the finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America (USA).
The French side would be seeking to make history by recording a quadruple this season after winning the French League, Coup De France and the UEFA Champions League this season.
They got to the finals by recording an emphatic 4-0 win against Real Madrid at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, to book a date with the Blues of Chelsea.
With goals from Fabian Ruiz, Ousmane Dembele, Goncalo Ramos, PSG set up a mouth-watering clash against Chelsea on Sunday, July 13, once again at the MetLife Stadium.
PSG were 3-0 up by the half-hour mark, with Fabian Ruiz scoring either side of a breakaway goal from the returning Ousmane Dembele.
Their victory was capped with a Goncalo Ramos effort three minutes from time.
Despite Kylian Mbappe making his first start in the global showpiece, Madrid were unable to mount a comeback.
It was not the return that the French forward had expected against his former club.
PSG are now just one win away from a quadruple of trophies, having won the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France and UEFA Champions League this season.
