Polls close at John the Baptist Catholic Church polling station

Accra, July 11, GNA – Polls closed at 1700 hours Friday at the Baptist Catholic Church polling Station in the Ablekuma North Constituency.

Nineteen polling stations are being contested after the Electral Commission declared a re run to give finality to the over all election results.

Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North has recorded a marginal lead in the close contest.

She polled a total of 74 votes out of a total of 142 valid votes cast.

Her contender, Ewurabena Aubynn of the NDC polled 68 votes.

There was no rejected ballot.

The Electroral Commission will collate the results from the 19 polling stations at its Greater Accra Regional Office after close of polls to complete the 281 polling station results to determine the winner for the Ablekuma North parliamentary election.
