Tamale, July 12, GNA – The Newly elected Northern Regional Executive Officers of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) have been sworn into office to lead the Association’s affairs in the region for the next three years. Â
They are Mr Yakubu Abdul-Majeed, Regional Chairman, Mr Albert Futukpor, Regional Secretary, and Miss Joyce Kantam Kolamong, Regional Treasurer, who were all elected unopposed during the GJA National and Regional Executive Elections held on June 30, 2025.
His Lordship Emmanuel Plange Brew, Supervising High Court Judge, Northern Region, administered the oath of office and oath of allegiance to them to swear them into office at a brief ceremony in Tamale on Friday.
Mr Mohammed Fugu, who was also elected unopposed as North East Regional Chairman, was also sworn into office during the ceremony.
His Lordship Brew, after administering the oaths, urged the media to carry out their duties with diligence and professionalism.
He urged the media to remain committed to promoting accountability and sustainable national development.
Mr Yakubu, on behalf of the executives, assured members of the Association that the new leadership would work collectively to defend and protect journalists in the region.
