Sunyani, (Bono), July 18, GNA – The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has called on its District and Municipal Directors in the Bono Region to enhance disaster management and prevention.

Mrs Fati Kine-Lam, the Bono Regional Director of NADMO, made the call when interacting with the Districts and Municipal Directors of the organization at a meeting in Sunyani aimed at strengthening its operations and contributing meaningfully to national development.

She underscored the need for a strengthened collaboration between NADMO and other agencies and stakeholders, and urged the Directors to eschew partisanship in the course of their duties for the purpose of disaster management.

Mrs Kine-Lam said: “We need to be up and doing in bridging the gaps in disaster management” and asked the Directors to deepen their relationship with the Regional Office and NADMO personnel regardless of their political orientation.

She said the contribution of every personnel was required in the prevention of disaster, and urged them to always use the laid down procedures in seeking redress for their grievances.

Mrs Kine-Lam said the government remained committed to addressing inadequate personnel and other emerging challenges, asking them to do their best in sensitizing local communities in disaster management to empower people to take precautionary measures against disasters.
