Accra, July 3, GNA – Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced a 12-hour interruption in water supply to several communities in the northeastern part of Accra on Friday, July 4, 2025.

This is to allow for emergency repair works at the Kpong Water Treatment Plant.According to a statement from the utility company, the shutdown will begin at 6:00 am and is expected to end by 6:00 pm the same day.

The affected areas include Dodowa, Oyarifa, Madina, Adenta, Ashaley Botwe, East Legon, Abokobi, Haatso, Agbogba, Ashongman and surrounding communities.

GWL is, therefore, advising residents in the affected areas to store enough water ahead of the maintenance work, as the temporary shutdown is necessary to address urgent technical issues at the treatment plant.

“Management is therefore entreating customers in the above stated areas to store enough water before the shutdown,” the statement said.

GWL assures the public that water supply will resume immediately upon the completion of the works and expresses regret for the inconvenience the disruption may cause.
