Atebubu (Bono East), July 1, GNA – The Adeapena Foundation, a charity organisation, has presented quantities of exercise books to two basic schools at Atebubu in the Bono East Region. The foundation was set up by Madam Jemima Akosua Dede, the 2019 Bono East Regional Representative of Ghana’s Most Beautiful Pageant show.
She was appointed as the Bono East Regional Ambassador to combat discrimination against recovered COVID-19 persons in the region.
Each of the Boniafo Anglican Basic and Kokofu Roman Catholic Basic Schools in the Atebubu/Amantin Municipality of the region received 400 pieces of exercise books.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Madam Dede said the foundation provided humanitarian services and engaged in development advocacy as well, improving the welfare of vulnerable people.
“We have implemented several social intervention programmes, supporting and helping to meet the development needs of deprived communities”, she stated.
Madam Dede said she was hopeful that the exercise books would greatly help improve learning, and urged the school children to always read their books.
She also advised the school children to remain obedient to their parents, teachers and the elderly in their respective communities and be God fearing as well, saying that would enable them to live longer and achieve their life aspirations and dreams.
The beneficiary schools thanked the donor for the support, and appealed for more of such assistance to improve learning outcomes.
