Sunyani, (Bono), June 12, GNA – Ms. Yeboah Amankwah, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani West constituency in the Bono Region has presented a 4×4 pickup vehicle and two motorbikes to the Bono Regional Police Command.
She said the presentation was her widow’s mite to support the police in crime combat and enhance the security of the region, stressing her commitment to do more for the service.
Ms Amankwaa stated at a short ceremony in Sunyani that “the machines reflect my readiness to contribute to improved security of the region and the Sunyani West in particular” and called on everybody to assist the police in combating crime.


The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP)Yao Dogbey Tettegah, the Bono Regional Police Commander, thanked the MP, assuring that the machines would be used strictly for operational purposes.
“We are committed to using the vehicle and the motorbikes exactly for what they are intended for and to enhance security and fighting crime”, he stated, saying “they are not for personal use and will be deployed to areas of need to boost our operational effectiveness”.
DCOP Tettegah assured the public of the police determination to control the crime wave and thereby keep the region safe for all.
Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister said the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) would continue to collaborate with the security services and to strengthen security in the region, saying the Regional Security Council was putting up measures for crime control.
They include the establishment of new police posts and intensified patrols at critical locations to stem the rising robberies in the region.
