Kumasi, June 30, GNA – Students of the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School (OLAG SHS) through the Student Representative Council (SRC) have renovated the Abrade D/A Primary School building in the Afigya Kwabre South District, Ashanti Region.
The renovation project, which costs over GH₵ 34,000, was implemented in partnership with the management of the OLAG SHS under the sponsorship of parents and well-wishers.
The project included both external and internal repainting works of a five-unit classroom block with two storerooms, the repairing of existing furniture and the provision of 15 new desks.
Mr. Francis-Pio Sapaat, the Head Prefect of OLAG, said the project was an effort to create a conducive learning environment for the learners at the Abrade D/A Primary School.
This, he noted, sought to provide quality and equitable educational environment to learners in underserved communities.
“During our visit to celebrate Mass with the learners of the primary school, we were moved by the deplorable state of the classrooms.
Determined to make a difference to support our younger siblings, we interacted with our school management and proposed the renovation project which was approved,” he recalled

Mr. Sapaat thanked the OLAG SHS community, the parents and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the project.
He urged the authorities of the school to uphold high maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the renovated school building, the repaired furniture and the new desks.
Mr. Richard Nkrumah, the Head teacher of the Abrade D/A Primary School, thanked the students and management of OLAG SHS as well as other stakeholders for the laudable intervention.
He assured that the learners would be groomed to embrace community service just as students of OLAG SHS had demonstrated.
