Kpodo, Nutsukpoe files for Volta GJA Treasurer Post.

Ho (V/R), June 16, GNA – Madam Ewoenam Kpodo, a Journalist with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), and Mr. King Freeman Xorlali Nutsukpoe, an Anchor with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Volta Star Radio, have filed their nominations for the position of Treasurer of the Volta Region Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).

Mr. Nutsukpoe occupies the first slot on the ballot paper, while Madam Kpodo secures the second position after balloting on Friday, June 13.

Speaking with the GNA after balloting, Ms. Kpodo, the incumbent Treasurer, commended colleague media practitioners for the trust placed on her to serve as Regional Treasurer, Volta GJA over the past three years and thus, seeks for re-election to continue with good work.

She stated that, with commitment, she would help raise funds to complete the Volta Press Centre project.

“As you may be aware, during Mr. Kanyi’s administration, I availed myself to help raise some funds from among us members and fellow media practitioners for the first phase of this project”, she said.

“Come June 30, give your nod once more to the woman you can trust the Association’s finances with and I assure you that you will have no regrets”, she added.

Mr. Nutsukpoe on his part, told GNA that his 15 years’ experience as a Broadcaster qualified him for the job.

He stated that his youthful vigour, organisational skills, and rapport with influential people in society make him an ideal candidate for the post.

Mr. Nutsukpoe said his administration would be built around five thematic pillars- digital payment system for membership drive, regular audit for financial transparency, fundraising for the Association, exploring investment opportunities, and financial literacy workshops and capacity building for Journalists.

“I am committed to transparency, accountability, and prudent financial stewardship. Vote number 1 on the ballot paper,” he added.
