Knights and Ladies of Marshall build KG for Ketan Catholic school

Ketan (WR), June 2, GNA -The Noble Order of the Knights and ladies of Marshall, a Catholic-friendly society, has cut the sod for the construction of a kindergarten block for the Ketan Roman Catholic school.

Dubbed the “legacy project”, the construction of the kindergarten, is part of the centenary celebration of the society, which would be climaxed in November 2026.

It is part of the society’s charitable activities to the church and community.

The KG facility would be a gated environment with a reception, infirmary, washrooms, meeting room, E- learning and classrooms.

The Chairman of the Anniversary Planning committee, Sir Knight Edward A. Prah, said the choice of Sekondi-Takoradi was because the Order had its roots from there.

“We chose this relatively endowed environment for this early childhood facility festering, and developing their cognitive, moral, spiritual and societal growth”.

The Vicar-General of the Sekondi-Takoradi Catholic Diocese, Very Reverend Fr. Francis Lemaire, on behalf of the Bishop, Most Reverend John Baptist Attakruh, said the facility must mould the future of children with the ability to live morally strong and upright lives to enable the country merit the title, ”a Christian nation”.

He said the societal lapses were becoming rampant and the church must begin to teach and educate Ghanaians on good Christian and sound values.

He said children should not only be knowledgeable in social philosophies,but rooted in the Lord for a worthy society.

The Chief Executive of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Mr. Fredrick Faustinus Faidoo, lauded the Church for supporting the needs of society for many years now.
