By Kingsley Mamore

Dambai (O/R,) June 19, GNA- The Kete-Krachi Muslim community in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region, has raised concerns over the sale of sacred lands historically used for prayer and religious activities.

These lands, holding significant cultural and spiritual value, are being sold for commercial development, sparking widespread anxiety in the area.

Mr. Hukash Muntari, secretary of the Kete-Krachi Muslim Youth Association, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the sale of the sacred lands threatens the community’s religious practices and cultural identity.

He emphasized that losing the spaces would disrupt congregational prayers and erode cultural heritage and stress the importance of preserving the place.

“Our places of worship are the heart of our community, selling them undermines our faith and way of life”.

Mr. Muntari is calling for authorities to intervene and halt further sales, he again said the Muslim are exploring legal options to reclaim sold land and emphasize the need for dialogue.
