Tema, June 23, GNA – Ms Bertha Badu-Agyei, an editor at the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and a candidate vying for the position of national treasurer in the upcoming Ghana Journalists Association’s (GJA) elections, has engaged journalists in the Tema Region on her vision for the Association.
Ms Badu-Agyei, who is the number two on the ballot, presented her W.I.S.E. plan to the journalists who interacted with her and made enquiries on welfare and dues issues and other issues related to the journalism profession.
Elaborating on the W.I.S.E. plan, she said she would put the welfare of members first, ensuring that their well-being is catered for when voted to the position of treasurer.
She said the GJA needed income diversification, which she would handle by unlocking new financial pathways for the Association.

According to Ms Badu-Agyei, the compound of the press centre, which is yet to be developed into its intended purpose, could be rented out in the meantime for social functions to generate extra income to support the activities of GJA
She also noted that there was a need to strengthen the GJA’s register system by enhancing transparency and cleaning up records while putting in place an efficient system for dues collection, making payments easier, smarter, and more accountable to promote voluntary payment.
