Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport inducts 88 new members

Accra, June 26, GNA- The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) on Wednesday inducted 88 new members into the Institute, with a call on members to discharge their duties professionally and contribute to national development.

The inductees comprised four new Chartered Fellows, (FCILT), 36 Chartered Members (CMILT), and 48 Members.

The ceremony, which was on the theme: “Upholding Professional Standards and Values for National Development” marked the first time that the CILT Ghana inducted new members outside its Annual General Meeting.

Addressing the inductees, Mr Mark Amoamah, the CILT Ghana President, described the transport and logistics industry as the “lifeblood of service” and urged the new members to uphold integrity in the discharge of their duties.

He said the increasing complex nature of the industry required high levels of professionalism, ethical conduct, and uncompromised quality in supply chain, logistics and transport.

“We must not only adhere to these standards ourselves but also serve as examples for others, ensuring that our practices contribute positively and sustainably to Ghana’s growth and development,” Mr Amoamah said.

Mr Cletus Kuzagbe, Past President, CILT Ghana, urged the inductees to recognise their role as transport and logistic professionals as “a call to duty” and work in the interest of their respective institutions.

He encouraged the inductees to take advantage of the facilities and opportunities provided by the CILT and broaden their skills on emerging practices.

Dr Ebo Hammond, the immediate-past President of the CILT Ghana, urged the inductees to embrace continuous professional development to stay abreast of industry trends and practices.

“Be exemplary in your work ethics and seek guidance from experienced professionals. Consider how your role contributes to the broader national development,” he said.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport was founded in 1919 in the United Kingdom and granted its Royal Charter in 1926.
