Techiman, (Bono East) May, 29 GNA-The National Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is working closely with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovative Plan (NEIP) to empower 10,000 young people with employable skills training annually.

Mr Samari Abdulai, the Bono East Regional Director of the YEA who announced this, said the beneficiaries would also be supported with startup tools to enable them to build their businesses and thereby make them more productive and contribute meaningfully to economic development.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Techiman, Mr Abdulai said the beneficiaries would also be supported to secure credit facilities, expand their economic activities and create decent jobs for others too.

He said the skill training empowerment was in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s reset Ghana agenda to create jobs for the youth and build a better society for all.

Mr Abdulai said under the government’s ‘Adwumawura’ intervention, the YEA would also facilitate the recruitment of more  youth into security services as well as health and education sectors.

He urged the youth to maintain their confidence in the government and leverage on the various models of the YEA as well as theNational Youth Authority to find decent jobs for themselves and to build their future.
