Western North Regional Minister hails President Mahama’s first 120 days in office

Sefwi-Wiawso (WN/R), May 17, GNA – Mr Wilbert Petty Brentum, the Western North Regional Minister, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for his sound economic and social policies in first 120 days in office. 

The Minister noted that President Mahama’s vision resonated with various groups, including the youth, women, traders, private sector, students, and ordinary Ghanaian.  

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, the minister said, “the President has reaffirmed his commitment to lay a strong and decisive foundation to reset Ghana and build the Ghana we want together,” he said.  

Mr Brentum added that the government would ensure it delivered on its promises to Ghanaians at the end of the four-year mandate.  

He said: “His few months in office has given a good sign through the abolishment of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) and betting tax, and the launch of various initiatives intended to enhance job opportunities for the youth.” 

The Regional Minister gave the assurance that he would collaborate with traditional authorities and other stakeholders to fight the illegal mining menace in the region.  

He said a task force would be established in the region to monitor the activities of illegal chainsaw and galamsey operators especially in the forest to help save the environment from all forms of destruction.
