Accra, May 13, GNA – Mr Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, has congratulated Ghana’s men’s 4×100 team following their qualification for the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
Ghana’s men’s quartet finished second behind France at the World Relays in Guangzhou, China, with a time of 38.32 seconds.
Mr Adams stated in a statement that the relay team’s qualification for the World Athletics Championship, which will be held in Tokyo, highlights the team’s discipline, perseverance, and commitment.
“You have not only made the nation proud but also reignited hope in the potential of Ghanaian athletics on the world stage.
“As you prepare to represent Ghana in Tokyo, be assured of the Ministry’s full support on your journey.
“Your qualification is not only a victory on the track; it is a call to rally national pride and energy behind your continued success,” the statement said.
Mr Adams also congratulated the coaches, technical team, Ghana Athletics and all who continued to work tirelessly to develop and support athletes.
The Ghana Olympic Committee have also congratulated the men’s relay team for their exceptional showing at the World Relays.
“The GOC acknowledges the team’s hard work, discipline, and dedication, which serve as a shining example for other Ghanaian athletes across various sports.
“There is optimism that this achievement marks the beginning of many more successes that will elevate Ghana to the medal podium in global competitions.
“We also extend our congratulations to Ghana Athletics, under the leadership of President Fusseini Bawah, for their unwavering commitment to nurturing world-class athletes,” a statement released by GOC said.
