Dambai (O/R), May 09, GNA – The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) in the Oti Region has hinted that it would stage a crackdown on motorbike riders using unprescribed lamps.
The move aims to enhance road safety and enforce compliance with traffic regulations.
Inspector Zakaria Asharift of the Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) of the Dambai Command, said the use of unprescribed lamps posed a significant risk to road users, as they could cause glare and impair visibility.
Inspector Asharift made these remarks during the inauguration of Dambai Okada Riders Association (DORA) to enhance security and unity.
He urged motorbike riders to adhere to the regulations and use only prescribed lamps to avoid penalties.
He again advised the motorbike riders to comply with the regulations to avoid fines and other penalties.
The crackdown is expected to improve road safety in the region and reduce the incidence of accidents caused by the use of unauthorized lighting on motorbikes.
