Accra, May 19, GNA – The Ministry of Education will host this year’s Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) Triennale on Education and Training from October 29 to 31, 2025, in Accra.
The flagship event will be on the theme: “Strengthening the resilience of Africa’s educational systems: advancing towards ending learning poverty by 2035 with a well-educated and skilled workforce for the continent and beyond.”

The ADEA Triennale will convene Ministers of Education and senior government officials, other key education stakeholders, including educators development partners, researchers, academia, private sector representatives and thought leaders in education in Africa and beyond.
These stakeholders will exchange insights, showcase best practices, and chart a collective path towards the sustainable transformation of educational systems on the continent.
Mr Haruna Iddrisu said, “Ghana is honoured to welcome ADEA’s Triennale to Accra.
“We share ADEA’s and Africa’s vision of ending learning poverty by 2035 and building a skilled workforce for Africa’s future.”

Mr Albert Nsengiyumva, the Executive Secretary of ADEA, said, “We are delighted to partner with the Government of Ghana for the 2025 ADEA Triennale.”
“In an era of unprecedented challenges—from learning poverty to the shifting demands of the labour market and shrinking education financing—we must strengthen system resilience, deepen peer learning, and accelerate the adoption of proven solutions.”

This year’s Triennale will take stock of the progress in education in Africa since the 2022 Triennale in Mauritius and reflect on the educational implications of the new initiatives and shifts that have emerged on the continent and beyond.
These include the outcomes from the 2024 Year of Education for Africa and the declaration of 2025-2034 as a Decade of Accelerated Education by the African Union AU’s 5th Specialised Technical Committee on Education, Science, and Technology.
Seven sub-themes are proposed to ensure an expansive engagement across the education sector, aligned with the overall theme of the Triennale.
The ADEA serves as a critical voice and a forum for policy dialogue on education in Africa.
Hosted by the African Development Bank Group in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, ADEA envisions a high-quality African education and training geared towards the promotion of critical skills for accelerated and sustainable development in Africa.
