Accra, May 11, GNA – The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has called on the government to expedite work on the National Parenting Strategy to support parents, especially mothers, in their crucial roles.

In a Mother’s Day message signed by its General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose, the CCG extended heartfelt tributes to all mothers and mother-role models in Ghana and worldwide.

The Council said mothers as vital pillars of parenting and family life, instrumental in nurturing children and caring for vulnerable family members.

The CCG emphasised that the Christian family serves as the bedrock for instilling moral and social values, a responsibility heavily reliant on the strength and dedication of mothers and those who play motherly roles.

The Council urged the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and stakeholders to prioritize and complete the National Parenting Strategy without delay.

The CCG expressed its firm belief that well-parented children, nurtured according to scriptural principles, will develop into responsible citizens who contribute positively to national development.

The statement referenced Luke 2:52 and Proverbs 22:6 of the Bible to underscore the importance of nurturing children with a strong moral foundation.

The CCG, by extending warm wishes to all mothers and mother figures, hoped that they continued to foster peaceful and nurturing homes that promote the development of morals, skills, and talents for the benefit of the nation.
